RB630-OLD Robart retracts set complete with pneumatics

A standard set of Robart #630 retracts is used in the F-15. We add the pivot bushing for the nose strut and the complete set of pneumatic support accessories. These retracts come without any struts, please order struts separately. Our scale oleo strut set PA509 is designed for these retracts for a drop-in fit. All the pneumatics to operate this gear is included.

PA509 F-15 scale oleo strut set

These struts are precision CNC machined from bar stock. They are a drop-in fit into the Robart #630 retracts (RB630-OLD). The struts have been redesigned for better scale looks and for better durability. The main wheel axles are precision ground to fit our PA171 or PA172 main wheels and BVM brakes set.

Note: these struts replace the PA156HD struts which are no longer being produced.

PA155 Complete gear doors set for F-15 with full pneumatic support accessories

Complete set for operating gear doors on the F-15. Be advised that these doors are not true scale. They have been simplified for ease of set up and maintenance. The doors improve the aerodynamics and the looks of the model.

PA171 Alu main wheels & brakes (set without pneumatics)

Identical to the set PA172 (see description below) but without pneumatic support set.

The set PA171 contains the following items:

2 ea. Aluminium main wheel rim assemblies (inner and outer rim)

2 ea. BVM brake hub with "D" ring

12 ea. M2.5 socket head cap screw

PA172 Alu main wheels & brakes set (including all pneumatics)

This set of aluminium wheels and brakes is specially engineered for our F-16 and F-15 kits although they will fit any landing gear with 3/16" (4.8 mm) wheel axles. We recommend to use them in conjunction with our own 3 ½" heavy duty tyres (PA173, not included). A complete separate (from the retracts) air system is used. A leak in the brake system tends to happen more often than in the retract system. With this separate air system, the retracts are not affected and it's always better to land without brakes than without landing gear!

Note: the wheels and brakes are also available without the pneumatic support set, order PA171. The brake hubs are manufactured by Bob Violett Models in the USA. and are patented.

We don’t think a proportional brake valve is needed to actuate the brakes, on the contrary. We prefer to use an "all or nothing" air micro switch valve and a predetermined pressure in the separate air tank to obtain maximum effective braking action without locking up the wheels. This way, we can adjust the servo actuating the valve to get maximum braking action with a very small amount of "down" elevator stick travel. This also avoids "lifting" of the tail due to excessive "down".

PA173 Pair of heavy duty tyres for PA171 or PA172

Pair of 3 ½" heavy duty tyres. Made from pure, thick walled rubber so they will not flatten from model weight (if not left on its wheels for any longer than a few days). On the other hand, this allows the tyres to give plenty shock absorption unlike many aftermarket tyres which are rock solid and do not give any shock absorption whatsoever.

PA507 F-15C scale main wheel hub covers

The scale hubs reflect the full scale F-15C wheels. They are attached with two screws to a plywood ring glued inside the rim.

The set consists of a pair of scale resin cast main wheel hub covers, a pair of plywood rings, 4 screws (+ a spare) and instructions.

PA508 F-15C scale brake hub covers

The scale brake hub covers reflect the full scale F-15C brakes. They completely cover the modified BVM brake hubs and will fit the new F-15 struts as supplied in the PA504A and PA504B retract sets. A decal sheet is also supplied to simulate the detail on the inner side of the wheel rim.

The set consists of a pair of scale resin cast brake covers, a decal sheet and instructions.

Note: the set will not fit the old struts and/or unmodified BVM brake hubs
